Our Class of the Week for September 22 - 28 is Ms. Backhus’s 6th Grade Class!
This class is full of energy and they make sure everyone knows it! They proudly call themselves crazy, and if there’s one thing they want you to remember, it’s that they are loud—really, really loud! But beyond the noise, they’re also confident in being the coolest middle school class, and they definitely think they’re awesome.
6th Grade By the Numbers
This class will graduate from Emmanuel-Faith in 2027 and they are the only class with more girls than boys in our K-8 grades!
1 new classmate
5 students who travel to York Middle School for band twice a week
6 students who are on Yearbook Staff and Student Leadership Team
6 boys
9 girls (including their teacher)
Favorite Colors: Span from pastel yellows and pink to vibrant greens and blues.
Favorite Animals: They have a wild selection—from the more familiar cats, dogs, and koalas to unique choices like an ancient Siberian unicorn and even a pond possum!
Favorite Foods: Pizza, mac-n-cheese, and tacos are popular picks, but some adventurous students love curry and rice, sirloin steak, and sweeties (a type of pancake).
Recess Activities: You’ll find them playing groundies, gaga ball, and hanging out on the swings, or just talking with their friends.
Looking Forward to: The Henry Doorly Zoo trip! Mission Central field trip and studying Ancient Egypt. And, of course, a few students can’t wait for some good old-fashioned sleeping and soccer!
Please add Ms. Backhus and her 14 students to your prayers this week.
