Penny Wars

During National Lutheran Schools Week at the end of January, the 161 students from preschool through 8th grade at Little Blessings Preschool and Emmanuel-Faith Lutheran School participated in a fun and competitive fundraiser called Penny Wars!

Students carefully choose which grade to put their money inHere’s how it worked: Pennies and dollar bills added positive points, while silver coins (nickels, dimes, quarters) subtracted points. Each day, students strategized—sometimes sabotaging other classes (especially siblings!)—all in good fun, with the goal of winning the right to choose where the funds would go.

After a week of competition, our students raised an incredible $2,749.27! Because of the overwhelming success, we allowed each grade level to designate a portion of the funds based on the points they earned.

Thanks to their generosity and enthusiasm, we are thrilled to announce how the funds were distributed:

  •   York Pregnancy & Family Resource Center – $364.93

  •   Mission Central – $1,127.20

  • Hope Gospel Rescue Mission – $392.41

  • Camp Luther – $397.36

  • York Adopt-a-Pet – $467.37

We are grateful for the opportunity to support organizations like this, and we pray it will be a blessing to those they serve!
