During National Lutheran Schools Week at the end of January, the 161 students from preschool through 8th grade at Little Blessings Preschool and Emmanuel-Faith Lutheran School participated in a fun and competitive fundraiser called Penny Wars!
Here’s how it worked: Pennies and dollar bills added positive points, while silver coins (nickels, dimes, quarters) subtracted points. Each day, students strategized—sometimes sabotaging other classes (especially siblings!)—all in good fun, with the goal of winning the right to choose where the funds would go.
After a week of competition, our students raised an incredible $2,749.27! Because of the overwhelming success, we allowed each grade level to designate a portion of the funds based on the points they earned.

York Adopt-a-Pet – $467.37
